Object Writing: Port

Wine, travel, sailing, coasts, beaches, fishing. So many directions to go. I opted for the bustle of a port that services cruise ships. On reflection, it may have been nice to talk about a dock like that when it wasn't being used. Talking about the shadows of chaos on arrival/departure. The immense size of the concrete blocks on the edge to anchor these mammoth boats. Which way would you go?

Gulls called across the water, their cries joining the rattle of a ganging being trundled down the dock Brief flurries of chaos erupted in turn between the loading bay and receiving dock with workers huddling to play tetris with luggage and other cargo. Conversations caught on the wind, carrying checklists, frustration and the silent patience of those more comfortable with the passage of time. Overblown speakers rattled unintelligible instructions that most managed to follow. A symbiotic tap of a neighbour's shoulder to see if they caught that last instruction flourishes intro conversation
