Object Writing: Mortgage

He tread through the unfamiliar garden, catching spots of moss soaking in the shadows of recently groomed plants. His body was tentative, dragging slightly behind each step, reluctant to greet the suited gentleman whose trouser hems were cut far too high and the absence of any sock peeking above the tan leather shoes inspired a scowling odour. Recalling his own smelly shoes he hoped this man at least had small socks on…

If you've ever gone to a house inspection, you may be familiar with the feeling you get when walking into a new place. As well as wanting to avoid the real estate agents who pander for your details so they can harass you with listings for the next century. On a fair few agents I have seen high hems and sock-less shoes. I can't get past the sock-less dress shoes. They must surely reek, right?
