It was as though a light snow had breathed down from the sky spinning and twirling in a slow dance. It was a flicker in time that felt impossibly everlasting. Watching the rainbow confetti pirouette to the floor…
I didn't nearly get as much of a paragraph with this one because I was focused on two things I didn't want to say:
- The world moved in slow motion
- The whole world stopped
I was thinking of Augie March's ‘One Crowded Hour’ where they did a great job of describing the beauty in a single moment. So I went slower with my writing, but typing it up here I can still see how I felt rushed to find that result.
I'm going to give this one another go and see if I can capture different ideas of how to describe that sensation of time stopping.
