Whenever I see Quarter I naturally think ‘Quarter Short’ so had to shove that aside and went for time - a quarter of an hour. It felt appropriate to consider waiting rooms or any space designated for waiting. I really enjoyed diving into this one and letting it finish without a resolution. 

The gentle ticking of a clock filled the vacant room. Brushing over aged magazines and AC chilled seats. The space was cold but stifling, weighed down by the impending. Impending what? Prognosis? Diagnosis? Exam? The room was both anticipating and expectant of the good, the bad and the curious. It laboured with unfounding emotion. Jittering with each tick of the clock. Its heart pulsing in a beat that swiftly rises pressed upon by the noisy silence that east away at the calm.
