It would have been very easy to write about an actual rabbit, it definitely felt more playful to use it as a descriptor instead. I was also very much enjoying myself going from such picturesque descriptors to what the birds might be gossiping about. This was another that was difficult to stop. I feel I could have continued on this delightful tangent for an age. 

Tufted ears of grass stood in pairs, gossiping across the field with each wave of the early morning breeze. As it breached the horizon, the sun breathed a neighbourly warmth ksising away the dew that ahd collected overnight.
