Dampened grains of sand, darkened by the salty ocean, were scooped in large dollops by a red plastic spade. It lifted the dense globs into the blue bucket, shaped specifically for the task ahead, turrets upturned to created the perfect shape. As the sand piled higher, summer hands pressed down to squeeze the gaps between, indenting the sand into the familiar shape. brimming with glistening grains, the pail was upturned, placed between the moat and the sea, the first humble tower of a sandcastle. It drooped slightly to the left, leaning into the sunlight, a flower in the spring. The guard's cutaways remain intact to protect the kingsmen that would never be, and the scoops began again. Dollops dropped, splattering against the bucket base, slowly filing to form the next tower. Assessment week wore me out! That plus a trip to LA which I am currently on. I'm getting back into the swing of daily object writing and trying to shake off the cobwebs. This one seems pretty rough to me. There's not a lot I'm proud of and it's right before bed. Hopefully tomorrow I can steal away 10 minutes to do the object writing, and get in while my mind's fresh!
