I could hear his waxy leg dragging, pulled behind in a haunting shuffle. The closet felt claustrophobic, crowded with my heartbeat that pounded against my ear drums while my mind created grotesque features and hallucinations. The paralysis was screaming, throttling my breath
For some delightful reason, when I saw the word ‘crayon’ I thought about a wax monster with a dead leg from some prior altercation with this hiding person.
I definitely could have written this better, but I haven't tried horror before so not a bad first attempt. I loved the closet was “crowded with my heartbeat”. I did need to say it was pounding my ear drums, but could have said how its hammering made it impossible to hear where this wax-creature was, how it disguised sounds and caused hallucinations on how close they were. There's always next time!
